Back from my 7 week vacation here at work.
My trip to the UK was fabulous. The Lake District is VERY beautiful. The landscapes ar breathtakingly beautiful! Weather was mostly crappy. But it really was a nice trip nevertheless. I did quite some hiking and broke my personal best of weekly steps with 160.000 steps. (I own a fitbit)
I will post some pics as soon as I uploaded them to the laptop and you can see for yourself. I already posted some of the pics on my instagram account for those of you who would like to see. My instagram name is the same as here.
The most annoying thing on my trip was that I tripped 5! times into dog poop within those 3 weeks. Normally I trip into dog poop like 3 times a year.
It felt like a third of the british population owns at least one dog and at least one third or those dog owners owns more than 2 dogs... And it seemed that all those dog owners let their dogs poop around the Lake District. And at least 10% of those dog owners doesn't pick up the poop into those little trash bags even if it is ordered by law that you have to pick it up. Very annoying. I love dogs, but this is just EEEWWW!
Another annoying thing happened on my way back to the mainland. They confiscated two of my favourite pocket knifes! I really, really love my knifes and everyone who touches my knifes is evil and damned to death! Luckily they only found two of my 5 knifes I brought with me. I had to pay a little fortune to get them back from Dover Port customs. 35 Pounds as processing fee and 5 Pounds for shipping. My beloved knifes returned unharmed to me last week. Pheeew!
But all in all the impressions of that wonderful landscapes was worth the dog poop and loss of my beloved knifes.
Ah, forgot to mention that I "lost" my Identity Card. Had to go to the police-station at home to report the missing ID. I don't know if I lost it for real or if it was stolen.
On my way back I drove by an instagram friend in Trier. Afterwards I visited Eltz Castle and the next day Hohenzollern Castle.
Then I returned home to the luxury of unlimited hot showers (I slept in my car the whole time and only took "bucket showers".) and a large bed.
At home I decided that I no longer want to restaurate the Retro-sofa and Retro-armchairs and brought them to the bulky waste at the recycling yard. I have a lot more space in my apartment now.
Aaaaaand I bought myself a totally wonderful 55" LED-Full-HD-TV! I only had a little 21" TV before and now I'm just in Awe because I can watch tennis matches with the reality feeling, with turning my head from right to left and vice versa for following the ball. (if I would watch tennis matches)
Well, I think these were the most important things from my vacation.
I think I need at least 2 or 3 weeks more just after this one day at work.
Oh, forgot to mention, that the new tenants who moved in last November, living under my apartment, are a bit loud when having sex. *flatstare* á là nineofswords
