Back in Munich to very awful weather conditions. The drive here was horrible as it was snowing heavily. Thankfully it's not that cold though the snow won't stay.
All my things I ordered arrived last weekend.
The rain jacket is a bit huge but I will keep it as I could wear as many layers under it as I wish.
The therm-a-rest matress doesn't blow up itself as it is described. It is my 4th and it is the first one were I'm not 100% satisfied. All my others are still in use. My first is already nearly 20 years old. I use the 2 others at the moment in my car while in Munich and the thicker one of them was with me on my hikes in the mountains for years. I need that thicker one to get going as my back will go on strike otherwise.
I think I will make a little test trip in my home region over a long weekend in March or early April to test my equipment if it is still in a good enough condition for a longer hiking trip.
I thought about taking my Gore-Salomon running shoes for the river crossings in Scotland instead of the Tevas. They have more grip and won't open in stronger currents. But they weigh more... *sigh* There's always this decision more weight to carry or the lighter version and be less safe. Though - so far my backpack was always too heavy.
I will also pack mostly waterproof.
I'm such a nit picker when it comes to outdoor-equipment.
I have one/two free place(s) in my tent depending on which one I'll take. It's either the Hilleberg Staika or the Hilleberg Nallo. Anyone interested?
