The hiking guide came and I'm pretty sure that my next hiking adventure will start at the 29th of April until the 31st of May.
Scotland - here I come! Watch out!
I'm so looking forward.
Until then I have a little shopping list:
- waterproof maps
- gaiters (my old ones are just too - well - old)
- maybe a new GoreTex jacket
- walking sticks (never owned any)
- gas/fuel for my fuel-stove
- british pounds £
- GPS
- dry food for hiking purposes like cereal, milk powder, noodles, dried ready-to-go-meals for just heating, mashed potatoe-powder etc.
- spare batteries for GPS, flashlights etc.
That's all. The GPS will be the most expensive thing. Formerly I just used maps and compass. But I think I will give the GPS a try. I don't think that my smartphone will work in the wilderness, at least not very good as I bet that there won't be too many mobile phone masts. I will carry my digi-camera to take pics.
A friend of mine from former days spent at the Tracker School in New Jersey died. I'm very sad as he was a very good and very nice person.
I'm half way through felting the slippers for my friend.
The blue one is the sample slipper I got from my friend. The smaller green one is already finished. The larger green one has to be felted properly and will afterwards be the size of the other one. I was joking with her that they look like camouflage
Here's the pic:
